Life Expectancy is on the Rise

Life expectancy is on the rise, and is projected to keep on rising. Between 1960 and 2045 the average world life expectancy will rise from the mid 40s to the mid 70s, so people born at the end of that period can expect to live 30 years longer than people born at the start of it (source: Wikipedia):



In the UK, the rise can be shown even on a shorter period. Between 1980 and 2010 we added about ten years to the life expectancy of a new born baby (source: ONS):
